Outstation cab rentals from Bangalore across South India
Bangalore is the ideal base for exploring South India, and a private outstation cab is the most comfortable way to do it — door to door, on your schedule, with a driver who knows the route. Jeeva Cabs operates outstation cabs from Bangalore to destinations across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh, with both one-way drop and round-trip options. Each route has a dedicated page with distance, drive time, a suggested itinerary and vehicle recommendations so you can plan with confidence.
Our most travelled routes are Bangalore to Mysore (≈150 km, 3 hrs — a relaxed same-day round trip for the palace, Chamundi Hill and Brindavan Gardens), Bangalore to Coorg (≈260 km, 6 hrs — coffee estates, Abbey Falls and Madikeri fort), Bangalore to Ooty (≈270 km, 6.5 hrs — Nilgiri hills, botanical garden and the heritage toy train), and Bangalore to Chikmagalur (≈240 km, 4.5 hrs — coffee trails, Mullayanagiri peak and homestay drops). For pilgrimage and heritage, we run Tirupati and Hampi with darshan timings and multi-day halts in mind, and for coastal and plantation trips we cover Pondicherry and Wayanad.
One-way drops versus round trips
A one-way cab is a drop-and-go booking — the vehicle takes you to your destination and returns empty. Because the cab must get back to base, one-way fares include a return charge on top of the one-way distance. A round-trip cab keeps the same driver with you for the entire journey — the driver waits at your destination (with a daily waiting-time allowance) and brings you back on your chosen return date. For weekend getaways and sightseeing trips, a round trip is almost always more convenient and often more economical than two one-way bookings.
How outstation fares are calculated
- Per-kilometre rate multiplied by the total round-trip distance
- Daily driver allowance (bata) for each day the driver is on the trip
- Toll and parking at actuals along the route
- Driver night-halt allowance for multi-day trips
- GST on the total
You receive the full fare calculation before you confirm — so the per-km rate, distance, driver allowance and tolls are all broken out and there are no additions on the return. For multi-day South India tours like a Coorg–Wayanad loop or a temple circuit through Dharmasthala, Sringeri and Belur, we quote a flat day package with the same vehicle and driver throughout. For groups above seven, a Tempo Traveller or Force Urbania keeps everyone together with room for luggage — see the fleet silos for the right seating option.
Planning your South India outstation trip from Bangalore
A well-planned outstation trip is the difference between a relaxed weekend and a stressful one. The first decision is one-way versus round-trip: a one-way drop suits a permanent move, a stay-at-destination or a return by another means, while a round trip with a waiting driver is the right choice for a weekend getaway where you want the same cab to bring you home. For most leisure trips to Mysore, Coorg, Ooty, Chikmagalur and Wayanad, a round trip is more convenient and often cheaper than two one-way bookings, because the driver and vehicle stay with you for the full journey.
Choosing the right vehicle for the route
Not every vehicle suits every route. The Bangalore–Mysore run is a flat highway where a sedan or Innova is comfortable and fast. Routes into the hills — Coorg, Ooty, Chikmagalur, Wayanad — include long ghat sections with steep climbs and tight curves, where a capable SUV, a Force Urbania or a Tempo Traveller with a strong engine and good brakes is safer and more comfortable than a small hatchback. For groups of nine or more, a Tempo Traveller or Urbania keeps everyone together and is more economical per head than running two cars. Share your destination and group size and we will recommend the right class for the terrain.
Multi-day packages and inter-state trips
For multi-day South India tours — a three-day Coorg stay, a four-day Coorg–Wayanad loop, a temple circuit through Dharmasthala, Sringeri and Belur-Halebidu — we quote a flat day package that covers the vehicle, driver daily allowance and overnight halts, so the price is fixed for the agreed itinerary regardless of the daily kilometres. Many of our routes cross from Karnataka into Tamil Nadu, Kerala or Andhra Pradesh; inter-state border permits and tolls are handled and included in the quote, so you do not face surprises at a state checkpoint. The best departure times avoid Bangalore's peak traffic — an early morning start before 7am or a late-morning start after 10am keeps you off the ORR and airport-road snarls.
Every outstation quote is confirmed in writing before you pay, with the per-kilometre rate, total distance, driver allowance, toll, parking and GST itemised. Tell us your destination, dates and group size through the quote form and we will send a complete fare with the right vehicle for the route.
